<p>Let’s be honest – everything tastes better with a sea view. Which is why we’re fully on board with the great British tradition of the beach picnic… just with a slight upgrade. <p>Sometimes the best seaside meals come from the most unexpected places. Tucked away in Swansea Marina’s&nbsp;Tesco&nbsp;Superstore car park, the PizzaExpress Pod is the perfect spot to grab-and-go a sunset pizza picnic and to head to the sands of Swansea beach. Order some Dough Balls, a classic like the American Hot or Sloppy Giuseppe (you’re eating outdoors, so don&#8217;t worry about the cheese pull), then follow the path to The Observatory and signs to the beach, and within minutes you’re settling on the sands with panoramic views that stretch all the way to&nbsp;Mumbles Pier. Pizza perfect.</p>

<p>Some things are simply non-negotiable on a trip to the seaside, and fish and chips is firmly at the top of that list. But if you&#8217;re looking to go a little beyond the battered basics, The Lime Crab in New Quay should be on your list. Perched right above the harbour and beach, it takes everything you love about a great fish supper and turns it up a notch: say yes to salt and pepper squid, tempura king prawns, fresh scallops, seabass and even lobster with your chips. <p>Everything comes with homemade tartare sauce, there are veggie options like deep-fried halloumi, gluten-free picks, and you can even grab a cold beer, cider or a glass of something sparkling to wash it all down. Keep your eyes on the water while you wait – bottlenose dolphins visit the harbour regularly throughout the year.</p>

<p>For the perfect Pembrokeshire picnic, head to Lobster &amp; Môr, a charming deli and takeaway tucked into the heart of Little Haven village. Their legendary lobster rolls and crab sandwiches are made with the freshest local catch – brought in by their shellfisherman, Danny, aboard the Wren and Rose – and served on artisan bread from a local bakery. Pair your seafood feast with deli products like cheese, olives and coleslaw, Welsh chocolate, fudge, ice-cream, and of course, a cup of their signature, specially roasted Fisherman’s coffee. Just a short stroll away is Little Haven Beach, a sheltered cove of golden sand and pebbles, framed by dramatic high cliffs and rock pools perfect for exploring. Top tip: The menu depends entirely on the morning&#8217;s catch, so call ahead to avoid being lobster-disappointed!</p>

While they flip a mean classic burger, the true stars are their gourmet specials that celebrate local Anglesey produce. Surf and Turf? It’s&nbsp;a standout, featuring Welsh tomahawk steak, succulent garlic and herb grilled prawns and homemade chimichurri. Seafood lovers can dive into Menai Mussels steamed in either a rich local Anglesey craft cider and cream sauce with smoked bacon and leeks, or a fragrant Thai green curry sauce.
