<p>With the <a href="https://www.brits.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">BRIT Awards 2026</a> landing in Manchester on <strong>Sat 28 Feb</strong>, the city is set to become the centre of the UK music universe for one gloriously chaotic weekend. Expect chart-toppers, viral newcomers, legacy acts, label execs, stylists, managers and hangers-on to descend en masse — some rehearsing, some performing, many very much not sleeping. The BRITs have long been a magnet for headline-making behaviour, blurry-eyed after-parties and flashbulb chaos, and Manchester is about to get the full treatment. From Champagne-soaked dinners to 4am dancefloors and late-morning recovery brunches, here’s where the cool crowd — and the famous faces — will be holding court.</p>

<p>If Manchester has a red-carpet postcode, this is it. Slick, shiny and filled with glamourpusses for late dinners and big nights &#8211; and celebs who want to be seen. During BRITs weekend, expect chart-topping pop stars, glossy R&amp;B names, TV-friendly performers and major-label entourages moving between tables with stylists in tow. First up is perennially popular <a href="https://ivycollection.com/restaurants-near-me/the-ivy-north-west/the-ivy-manchester/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Ivy Spinningfields</a>, where dressed-up crowds quaff Champers and there&#8217;s always a strong chance of brushing past someone you vaguely recognise from TV &#8211; from Saturday-night pop royalty, to judges-off-duty and artists with singles climbing the charts. Ideal for a cocktail or three, a celebratory late supper, and posing in their flamboyant loos. </p>



<p>Then there&#8217;s <a href="https://tattu.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tattu</a> &#8211; dark, dramatic and wildly Instagrammable, this is one of Manchester’s most reliable &#8216;who’s who&#8217; restaurants. It’s long been catnip for pop stars, global DJs and international acts passing through on arena tours. Plus the Asian-inspired plates are out of this world. A little like bling-filled <a href="https://sexyfish.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sexy Fish</a>, where artfully prepared Asian plates are served to diners beneath shimmering neon lights and extraordinary murals across the ceiling – it&#8217;s all so joyously over the top. Don&#8217;t forget <a href="https://www.habbibi.co.uk/manchester" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Habibi</a> &#8211; which brings Middle Eastern flair to Spinningfields, drawing a dressed-up, music-industry crowd for long, buzzy dinners. Spice Girls legend Mel B, Jorgie Porter, Rhian Sugden, Corrie and Love Island star have all been spotted here. And then there&#8217;s <a href="https://louisrestaurants.com/location-manchester/?gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=22858069627&amp;gbraid=0AAAAAq3mv9-jl287_jHTi12zTqPUBGLwX&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQiA7rDMBhCjARIsAGDBuECAiX1tRvXYJktI54CNV3zODf_efwbYGPUgCxdn9n01OCi5H6k1KUkaApY_EALw_wcB" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Louis</a> &#8211; with its strict no-phones policy, a chic and discreet  moodily lit bar, favoured by artists who’ve spent the night being photographed and want to properly let their guard down.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s a whole lot going on around this stretch. The new&nbsp;St Michael’s development, just off Deansgate, has added serious firepower in the form of&nbsp;<a href="https://chotto-matte.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chotto Matte</a> (Japanese-Peruvian plates in a seriously sleek setting) and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.circolopopolare.com/restaurants/circolopopolare-manchester" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Circolo Popolare</a>, Big Mamma’s maximalist Italian showstopper (with the best tiramisu in the city). This area tends to attract established artists, international headliners and BRITs veterans — the ones who’ve done the circuit before and know exactly where they want to sit. </p>



<p>Elsewhere, <a href="https://www.gordonramsayrestaurants.com/lucky-cat-manchester/?srsltid=AfmBOorVVr4HEV61A66yI699WpFwa5rWWMhCnfkFqtddtMtZD4WqrmHR" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay</a> is high-energy, high-glam and very much on the celebrity circuit. Expect DJs, late sittings and a party-ready crowd — it’s one of those places that&nbsp;feels&nbsp;like something might kick off at any moment. You’ll likely spot chart mainstays, big-voiced solo stars and industry power players loosening their ties.</p>



<p>Oh and there&#8217;s also <a href="https://the-french-manchester.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The French at The Midland</a> for stars slipping under the radar, seeking serious food, discreet service and a quietly glamorous crowd.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-northern-quarter">Northern Quarter</h2>

<p>When the suits come off and the after-parties thin out, the Northern Quarter is where musicians, creatives and fashion insiders often end up. They&#8217;re not coming here to be seen. They&#8217;re drawn to the Northern Quarter&#8217;s low lights, under-the-radar bars, strong drinks and relaxed late-night kitchens. This is indie territory: bands, alt-pop artists, electronic producers, DJs and musicians’ musicians who want a proper night out without the velvet rope.</p>



<p>Nab a table at <a href="https://www.10tiblane.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">10 Tib Lane</a> &#8211; a long-standing favourite with Manchester’s creative crowd &#8211; for seasonal, thoughtful food, excellent natural wines and a room full of people who look like they’ve just stepped out of a record sleeve. Plausible territory for indie chart-breakers, Mercury-shortlisted types and their inner circles&nbsp;wanting something relaxed but top-tier. </p>

<p>For a bar with expertly made cocktails and a crowd that includes DJs, promoters and visiting musicians, head to <a href="https://www.bcdnq.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Behind Closed Doors</a> for no pretence, no posing — just strong drinks, loud music and very dim lights. This is where the cool kids end up when everything else feels too shiny.&nbsp;Then there are venues like <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mattandphreds/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Matt &amp; Phred’s Jazz Club</a> and&nbsp;<a href="https://bandonthewall.org" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Band on the Wall</a>,&nbsp;drawing touring artists and industry insiders for intimate gigs. And I&#8217;m going to have to mention <a href="https://afflecks.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Affleck&#8217;s</a> too &#8211; the multi-level bazaar of unique threads and underground designers, long beloved by alternative pop stars and boundary-pushing artists,&nbsp;where Lady Gaga, Pete Doherty, Noel Gallagher, and Debbie Harry&nbsp;have all been spotted. </p>

<p>Just east of the city centre, this former industrial neighbourhood has quietly transformed into Manchester&#8217;s culinary corner — and during BRITs weekend, that translates to&nbsp;songwriters, producers, left-field pop stars and critically acclaimed artists&nbsp;looking for somewhere genuinely good to eat and drink.</p>



<p>First up: <a href="https://www.firehousemcr.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Firehouse </a>is a heady mix that&#8217;s part restaurant, part late-night bar, part house party, where after dark, DJs, cabaret, dancers and louche performers take to the stage.&nbsp; You might just glimpse the occasional recognisable face keeping a low profile.</p>



<p>Next up? <a href="https://erst-mcr.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Erst</a> &#8211; a beloved restaurant that&#8217;s made a name for its Nordic-leaning plates and sharp wines. Just the sort of place where a Mercury Prize nominee would quietly eat dinner without anyone making a fuss. Then there’s <a href="https://manarestaurant.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">mana</a> — Manchester’s Michelin-starred heavyweight. This is where&nbsp;international artists, heritage acts and serious industry figures&nbsp;book when they want something exceptional, discreet and worthy of a celebration.</p>

With room for thousands and flexible party areas that can easily be programmed with beats and pop‑up sets, it’s exactly the sort of industrial‑cool setting where labels or promoters might stage a city‑wide party once the official stuff wraps up.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Closer to the centre,&nbsp;<a href="https://factoryinternational.org/aviva-studios/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Aviva Studios</a>&nbsp;offers a big‑venue alternative for headline‑level celebrations (think late DJ sets or industry showcases), while&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sohohouse.com/houses/soho-house-manchester" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Soho House</a> provides a private‑members backdrop ideal for invitation‑only gatherings with a stylish crowd.&nbsp;And then there&#8217;s <a href="https://sankeysofficial.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sankey&#8217;s</a>, the resurrected legend that finally reopened in January after years of closure is surely a plausible venue for a legendary post‑show party. No phones are allowed here either.</p>
