<p>Yep. As long as there’s Wi-Fi, they’re good to go. We’ve had students logging in from all over the world, staying with grandparents abroad, travelling with their families, or even studying from a beachside café (with a sun hat on, obviously).</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-where-s-the-wildest-location-your-pupils-have-studied-from">Where’s the wildest location your pupils have studied from?</h3>



<p>For a while, one of our furthest students was in Taiwan. Last summer she flew to London with her family for our big summer meetup in Hyde Park. We didn’t expect to see her and and it was the loveliest surprise to have her there (she won the ‘furthest travelled’ award that day). We’ve also got a couple of YouTubing families who are sailing around the world and living the dream. Not jealous at all.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-why-do-students-choose-an-online-school-like-yours">Why do students choose an online school like yours?</h3>



<p>It’s usually families looking for a change… an education that fits their lives rather than the other way around. Without being tied to a school building, the whole family’s lifestyle can shift. Parents get more time with their kids. Students get more time for the things they love.</p>



<p>And then there are the students who just never quite found their place in a traditional school. We often hear stories that successive schools never “clicked” before, but MVA finally gave them that special feeling.&nbsp;<br><br>We’ve also got some incredible young people doing amazing things. One of our students was the U14 Wimbledon champion this year. We have three drivers racing in Formula 4 and gunning for F1. There are winners in equestrian and golf, and young talent performing across the West End. For these students, it’s about giving them the flexibility to chase those dreams without sacrificing their education.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-does-this-mean-there-s-no-fixed-start-and-end-to-the-day">Does this mean there’s no fixed start and end to the day?</h3>



<p>We call it ‘structured flexibility’. Live lessons are at set times, so there’s a routine. It feels like a real school day. But outside of live lessons, students can do their independent work when it suits them. Some are early birds who get stuck in first thing, while others might work later after a training session or music practice. That’s where the flexibility comes in.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-without-a-fixed-timetable-or-in-person-lessons-how-do-students-reach-their-potential">Without a fixed timetable or in-person lessons, how do students reach their potential?</h3>



<p>Unlike traditional schools, we pair each student with a 1:1 mentor, who guides and supports them through their academic work but also manages their personal growth too. Mentors are great at keeping them on track while also giving them room to learn independence, which can be a huge confidence booster.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-are-students-online-all-day-and-what-s-your-stance-on-screen-time">Are students online all day – and what’s your stance on screen time?</h3>



<p>Definitely not. Live lessons are short, interactive, and to the point, and students are encouraged to get off-screen for reading, creative tasks, or anything they can do hands-on. We’re clear that a healthy learning day isn’t about staring at a laptop for six hours.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-how-do-you-encourage-getting-active-and-social-skills">How do you encourage getting active and social skills?</h3>



<p>We’ve got PE challenges, yoga sessions, creative projects, and there’s a lot of encouragement to go out and do things in the real world. Socially, there are clubs, virtual hangouts, and five or six in-person trips to attend each term. Mentors help too. They’ll say, “What can you get involved in locally?” or “Let’s look at work experience for the summer.” It’s about connecting the dots between school and real life.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-do-international-students-help-bring-global-culture-into-the-classroom">Do international students help bring global culture into the classroom?</h3>



<p>Absolutely. About 70% of our students are in the UK, but the rest are spread across 60+ countries. It’s brilliant because students get to swap stories and perspectives that you just wouldn’t hear in a local school. Geography lessons, for example, come alive when someone’s tuning in from the place you’re learning about…</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-what-do-your-students-gain-that-traditional-schools-can-t-offer">What do your students gain that traditional schools can’t offer?</h3>



<p>Freedom, hands down. They can travel, start businesses, or train at a high level in sport or the arts without feeling like they’re juggling too much. And they learn to manage their own time, which is so important when it comes to university or future jobs. We’re also quick to embrace new ways of learning, especially with AI, which is now built into our curriculum as both a topic to learn about and a tool to use wisely.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-have-any-parents-had-their-lives-transformed-by-online-schooling-too">Have any parents had their lives transformed by online schooling too?</h3>



<p>Oh yes. When school isn’t working for a child, it impacts the whole family. We’ve had parents tell us they finally feel like they have their child back, but also their family back. Others have been able to work remotely, take the kids travelling, or even move to that dream house they couldn’t consider before because of catchment areas. It’s amazing hearing how it transforms family life as a whole, not just for the student.</p>
