<p id="block-2e0db116-7ba5-4c5b-b5d3-ba6c50798ced">The 10th iteration of the famous Coppa Club, this is a place for all-day dining, coffee and cocktails or just hanging out with friends (or your laptop). It&#8217;s set within the elegant Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse that was once The Georgian Hotel on the High Street in Haslemere, close to the Surrey borders of Hants and Sussex.</p>



<p id="block-c8e9fc9f-c0e8-47ab-8e32-26884fa68d0f">Once you&#8217;ve arrived it&#8217;s all about kicking back and taking things slow. A coffee in one nook, or cocktail in another. Just add a good book or your favourite magazine and you&#8217;re all set.</p>



<p id="block-21fb2a36-7b65-402d-9a90-bbd110d83c3c">As well as the all-day loungey vibe, there are 13 boutique bedrooms each with its own unique styling, which makes The Georgian a glorious spot for a getaway.</p>



<p id="block-38fd216f-0a70-4b7e-9b63-b2d5840c2faf">Parking is straightforward. There&#8217;s a small car park for overnight guests. Or if you&#8217;re a day guest, head to the Chestnut Avenue car park behind the hotel. There&#8217;s a handy access gate, and there are always plenty of spaces.</p>

<p id="block-de47c9e3-50d9-4464-b09e-b94209e49b37">It’s like a 21st century version of a private member’s club except it’s open to everyone, super relaxed rather than super posh, and there are no fees.&nbsp;Guests are encouraged linger all day &#8211; and they do &#8211; which creates a vibrant and buzzy feel.</p>



<p id="block-96c838f3-e7bb-49f0-812c-a7f2716eb521">The ground floor is given over to a maze of adjoining public spaces &#8211; snugs, lounges, nooks and alcoves. It&#8217;s interiors goals all the way. The hotel underwent a monumental makeover a couple of years ago and the result is fun and stylish with bold flourishes and quirky touches. There&#8217;s a homey vibe &#8211; think sofas, plush velvet cushions, soft lamp lighting and stacks of books, plus greenery galore. And there&#8217;s more than one feature fireplace &#8211; both roaring on the night I stayed.</p>



<p id="block-fe96979b-ad4d-4ca4-8f44-d687b89b19cc">The interiors nod to the building&#8217;s original Georgian and Tudor heritage, but with modern flourishes. Whether you’re after an intimate booth, banquet-style seating for a group, a terrace table for two, or a cosy armchair – you’ll find it. The main dining room leads to a terrace &#8211; cleverly designed with a retractable roof. And yes, you’ll find the Coppa Club’s iconic igloos in the garden too.</p>

<p id="block-54fa849b-f703-4cd6-8d85-911cbeaa484b">Coppa Club nosh tends towards grills, grazing plates, sourdough pizza and salads &#8211; it&#8217;s unfussy classics done well. We kicked things off with a couple of small plates &#8211; a Puglian burrata (aubergine caponata, for the uninitiated) and a crispy fried squid . Both were delicious.</p>



<p id="block-14c15ad5-a3ab-4286-963c-c73e1d627276">Next up, I attacked the rare seared Yellowfin tuna and my date (aka Mr M) went for the steak frites. The steak, I&#8217;m told, was melt in the mouth tender, and the tuna was exactly how I love it. Rare and pink but still hot. I nicked one of skinny fries and can confirm they&#8217;re pretty moreish. And our side of the house salad felt suitably wholesome.</p>



<p id="block-f3b63864-0366-41ee-9cd9-fc7b0260882e">Our last hurrah was the Coppa mess to share and I have only one word: divine.</p>



<p id="block-6efeec1b-c24b-44e0-9d6b-b67061fcede9">The Coppa Club also ticks boxes beyond lunch and dinner. The breakfast is very good offering pancakes, full English or avo on toast – sourdough natch. Although its style aesthetic will appeal to couples, Coppa&nbsp;caters well for kids who have their own menus, including veggie options.</p>

<p id="block-817f7a69-0a1c-4cae-b26f-dc0d85e43812">There are just 13 rooms here &#8211; all reached via the main staircase in the entrance hall. Each room is individually decorated. They&#8217;re elegant and soothing in a neutral colour palette of sage green, soft grey and light blues, with pops of colour and retro cool touches like an old fashioned dial phone and vintage books. The overall effect is one of relaxation &#8211; and that extends to the comfy beds</p>



<p id="block-06fdd1ed-1fe6-4458-af47-3cd4b86ed440">The bathrooms were a masterclass in luxurious simplicity with rain shower, classic taps, sage green metro tiles, super-soft towels and lush bath products.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="block-cb17e730-22be-4a8c-ab8a-df1437bd7fb4"><strong>KID-FRIENDLY?&nbsp;</strong></h2>



<p id="block-04a0210e-f469-4fdb-a1cc-3b1166992803">Families are welcome here and there’s a dedicated kids’ menu for the small people that includes things like crispy squid for starters, and Margherita pizza, grilled fish and beef burger for mains</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="block-9965b13d-066a-4a3a-b334-4645a9a914a6">AND DOGS, TOO?</h2>



<p id="block-0bc95ff5-9bf9-465d-8231-06be2ed6e961">In the words of the Coppa Club: a weekend away wouldn&#8217;t be the same without your shadow. Yes, they&#8217;re dog friendly and pooches of all shapes and sizes are welcome.</p>

<p id="block-beb7e2d7-f8a5-46fb-83c3-1498737c34e7">The ground floor is easily accessible. There&#8217;s one bedroom &#8211; a medium double room &#8211; on the ground floor, with a fully accessible wet-room.</p>

<p id="block-ff2ba7a0-e118-4f0e-a0c1-802875fa1aba">A wander around Haslemere is a must. It&#8217;s is a lovely town packed with independent shops and boutiques. There’s also the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.haslemeremuseum.co.uk/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Haslemere Museum</a>&nbsp;which has three permanent galleries and two temporary exhibition rooms, plus a library and archive. It&#8217;s free to visit.</p>



<p id="block-77dfcc96-248a-4fc3-aa0c-c27d90c21ed1">You&#8217;re also in prime National Trust territory. Swan Barn Farm, opposite the The Georgian, is a hidden gem with lovely walks through fields and woodlands. Just cross the road and follow the footpath between the buildings marked Swan Barn Walk.</p>

<p id="block-a0f09e85-c848-40eb-ace7-55383fce5fe9"><strong>Not for:</strong> Haslemere is a quiet country town &#8211; so if you&#8217;re looking for a getaway with some urban bustle, this isn&#8217;t for you.</p>
