You’ve probably used the MICHELIN Guide to pick out a top-notch restaurant (hello, three-star magic!), but now they’re shifting their attention to the hotel scene, and it’s just got serious.

Michelin has just introduced the Michelin Key, a brand-new award aimed at celebrating hotels that go above and beyond the standard “nice room with a view” experience. We’re talking hotels that nail it in architecture, design, service, and most importantly, personality. And it’s not just for the super swanky joints either – their new guide includes 5,300 hotels across 120 countries, with a range of prices and styles to suit every kind of traveller.

The Michelin Key is essentially the hotel world’s answer to the Michelin Star – awarded to those spots that raise the bar in hospitality. Think unforgettable stays where every detail is executed with flair, from the design of the room to the quality of service. And don’t worry, this isn’t just some fluffy award – anonymous inspectors visited some of the UK’s top hotels (tough job) and rated them on everything from their location and interior design to authentic and unique experiences..
