<p>Stretching across a 1.8km island of white sand, jungle greenery and eye-wateringly blue sea, Kuramathi is so beautiful it might make you cry. But crucially – happy tears, not the&nbsp;&#8216;why did we book this?&#8217;&nbsp;variety. And while it looks wildly romantic, it’s also one of the smartest family resorts in the Maldives. Rare. Excellent. Properly worth knowing about.</p>

<p>And then there’s the masterstroke. Returning to Kuramathi for Summer 2026 is&nbsp;<strong><strong><a href="http://www.campioni.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Campioni Soccer Academy</a></strong></strong>. This&nbsp;is a professional, daily football&nbsp;academy for children aged 4–16, coached by England football legend&nbsp;<strong>Stuart Pearce</strong><em> </em><strong>MBE</strong>, Manchester United treble-winner&nbsp;<strong>Wes Brown</strong>, and UEFA ‘A’ licensed coach&nbsp;<strong>Adrian Whitbread</strong>.</p>

<p>Before you picture boot-camp intensity: don’t. This isn’t about churning out the next Premier League star. Campioni is about confidence, inclusion and joy – boys and girls of all abilities welcomed, encouraged and properly coached. Training runs for around two hours each morning, leaving parents with the holy grail: guilt-free downtime, safe in the knowledge the kids are having an absolute blast. </p>

<p>Not all kids are football-mad – and that’s very much OK. The resort’s&nbsp;<strong>Bageecha Kids Club</strong>&nbsp;does not disappoint. You won’t find limp colouring-in or staff clock-watching their way through the day. Spread across 530sqm of garden-style space, it’s more mini adventure park than kids’ club, with splash pads, a pool, ice-cream parlour, outdoor play zones and a rolling two-week programme of activities.</p>

<p>There’s creative stuff (crafts, discos, storytelling), energetic stuff (treasure hunts, mini Olympics) and even sneaky educational sessions led by the island’s marine biologist. It’s complimentary, includes meals and runs long enough for parents to properly switch off. Translation: spa time without clock-watching or guilt.</p>

<p>While the kids are being joyfully worn out by football drills and splash pads, you’re free to remember who you were&nbsp;<em>before</em>&nbsp;you became a full-time logistics manager. Head to the Island Spa, tucked among palms with overwater treatment rooms, for deep Balinese massages, hot stones and facials that actually do what they promise. Add yoga with ocean views, snorkelling straight off the house reef (turtles and reef sharks are very much part of the daily cast list), or simply undisturbed lounging. Slap on the SPF and lean fully into the loafing.</p>
