Ain’t no party like a Muddy party!

For our office 'do' this year, we shimmied over to Stoke Park in Bucks for dinner, dancing and drinking. Here's how we got on. Anyone got any paracetamol, please?

Stoke Park, the storied five star country house hotel and championship golf course, has previously played host to Hollywood royalty Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant when they filmed Bridget Jones’ Diary‘s dirty weekend scene on site, while back in the ’60s, Sean Connery’s James Bond famously played golf here against Goldfinger. But last week, Stoke Park enjoyed its greatest honour to date (er, sort of) – the Muddy HQ team descended for our Christmas party.

We came, we saw, we conquered the dancefloor with some really rather special moves to ABBA (apologies to anyone who was in the vicinity who had the misfortune of seeing that). The evening’s theme was Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and the hotel was decorated accordingly – I woke up the next day with a mysterious stash of lollipops in my handbag.

We scoffed three courses of fine dining fabulousness (first turkey dinner of the season? Check!), drank Champagne, hit the blackjack tables in the pop-up casino and, as mentioned, cleared the dancefloor.

Needless to say, the Muddy office resembled a morgue the next day. Sign of a good night, right?

If you fancy your very own golden ticket, the good news is Stoke Park are rolling out this festive extravaganza again. (We won’t be there – we don’t appear to have been invited this time. Can’t think why?)  This coming Thurs (12 Dec) and Sat (14 Dec), Willy Wonka and gang will be back in action, welcoming guests to their winter wonderland. It’s £95 per head, including fizz on arrival, a three course dinner with wine, disco and casino. Tickets here.
