The White Lotus Season 3: everything you need to know
Official release date, cast members and a trailer teaser – here’s the lowdown on everything we know so far about HBO’s must-see series.
It’s dark, it’s cold, but don’t despair because there’s a ray of sunshine on the horizon: The White Lotus 3 is dropping soon (16 Feb)! Just the boost we need to get us through to spring, bring on the white sand, cocktail drinking, beach outfits and, err, dead bodies.
Muddy’s a big fan of the Emmy-winning HBO series based around guests and employees at luxurious five-star White Lotus resorts. Season one was set in Hawaii and satirised wealthy privilege, while season two took us to Sicily and centered around sex via a mega cast including Jennifer Coolidge, Leo Woodall (One Day, swoon), Meghann Fahy, Tom Hollander and Adam DiMarco.
Now the comedy drama’s hitting Thailand and there’ll be a host of new guests picking up where the brilliant Jennifer Coolidge left off.
What’s it about?
If the recently released 90-second trailer’s anything to go by, it looks as dark, funny and steamy as ever. Creator Mike White’s third season appears to focus on the West’s infatuation with eastern philosophy and wellbeing; think beach parties, meditation and Buddhist monks.
In a teaser clip released by HBO at the end of last season White said, “I think the third season maybe a satirical and funny look at death and eastern religion and spirituality.” Get ready for the LOLs.
Who’s in it?

Season three’s set in Thailand and the cast is looking as star-studded as the Milky Way, with Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age), Michelle Monaghan (True Detective), Jason Isaacs, Leslie Bibb (you’ll have seen her in Popular and Marvel movies), Sam Nivola (The Perfect Couple) and Patrick Schwarzenegger (yes, he’s the son of Arnold and yes, he’s also ripped) bagging a role. Though tbh Muddy’s most excited about Aimee Lou Wood’s (Sex Education) appearance.
Natasha Rothwell, who played spa manager Belinda brilliantly in Season one, is making a return as a masseuse in training. K-pop fan? If it’s a yes, you’ll be hyped to hear Lalisa Manobal, Thai member of Korean band Blackpink, is making her acting debut as a staff member.
Where’s it filmed?

Much of the filming took place at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, plus locations in Phuket and Bangkok. With pool villas swank enough for Michelle Monaghan, world-class diving and a knock-out spa, Four Seasons should definitely be a contender for your next holiday (Patrick Schwarzenegger not included).
The White Lotus 3 premieres on HBO on 16 February.
