If motor-racing is in your heart and soul, you’ll already know that the Formula 1® Qatar Airways British Grand Prix 2024 gets underway at Silverstone on 5 – 7 July. What you’ll also know is that it can be a really tiring day with a lot of walking, queuing and scouting for the best track views across the vast site – not great for adults and even worse for kids.

We’ve been doing our homework on this and have discovered The Racing Green outdoor enclosure which might be the answer to your petrolhead prayers – not least because we’ve been able to secure a special Sunday-only deal and nearby parking! Hand us the keys to your Ferrari by way of thanks, while we give you the inside intel on what you need to know about this smart hospitality option.

You get the best view of the racing track

There’s a reason the elevated grandstand at The Racing Green enclosure is called the Silverstone Six – located inside the inner track at Silverstone, it’s the only place where you can view six corners, including The Loop, the circuit’s slowest bend, and then also see the cars put the pedals flat to the floor down Wellington Straight. In other words, you get a lot more ‘car’ time than other areas, where the drivers fly by in seconds.

It’s a family-friendly enclosure

If you want to take the family to F1, we reckon this is the best way to do it. The Racing Green makes life easy for families – totally enclosed and there’s no chance of kids running off and getting lost. Plus, everything’s within a few minutes’ walk including the grandstand itself, toilet facilities, as well as the street food and attractions like race simulators, Scalextric challenges and mega screens. In case of rain or – let’s be optimistic – sunshine, there’s vast stretch tent protection and loads of seating too. Basically, if comfort, ease and a relaxed experience are how you roll – whether you’re bringing kids or not – you’re in the right place.

Enjoy the summer festival vibe

OK, you might want to save your feathered headdress for Wilderness but there’ll definitely be an elevated summer fest atmosphere in this enclosure. For starters, you’re in an exclusive space with your fellow Racing Greeners rather than aimlessly wandering around Silverstone, plus you can expect an all-day BBQ, cooking demos, live music and entertainment and more street vendors and bar options than one person can get round in one day. Breakfast starts at 8am and snacks continue until 5pm, so that’s a challenge you may want to take up!

Food and drink is all-inclusive!

No bones about it, being an F1 fan requires deep pockets – even a super-basic admission for one day at Silverstone costs £169 – so having all F&B taken care of, especially if you’re coming as a group of friends or family, is a huge advantage. Also worth pointing out that the quality of the food here is waaaaay better than the usual pitstop fare – the likes of Patty & Bun and Saf’s Kitchen (MK Street Food Vendor of the Year) are rocking up, so you’ll be well looked after.

Stay overnight and get easy transfers

Planning to come for both the Saturday and Sunday? Then this will make your life easier. MATCH Hospitality (the team behind The Racing Green) is the official accommodation provider for Silverstone Hospitality and offers packages for 10 hotels on offer including Rushton Hall (snazzy!) that are easy distance of the circuit. Even better, they’ll put on coach transfers from the hotels to Silverstone, meaning you don’t need to worry about car parking and you can have a cocktail or two – or three, no judgement here – during the day.

Be a Muddy VIP with an exclusive Sunday-only package
