Tivoli La Caleta, Tenerife

With sun-drenched style, a glossy new look and food worth booking flights for, Tivoli La Caleta brings effortless grown-up glamour to the Canary Islands. Silk kaftan optional – but strongly advised.

Looking for a winter-sun bolt hole with major glow-up energy? Step this way. The freshly transformed Tivoli La Caleta, perched glamorously on Tenerife’s chic Costa Adeje, has just emerged from a €20 million makeover – and she’s no longer the girl next door. Designed by renowned architect Melvin Villarroel (of Marbella Club fame), the resort has kept its iconic curves and warm terracotta tones but been utterly reborn with a boho-luxe soul. Palm-shaded promenades, natural textures, and sultry mood lighting make this a resort you instantly exhale into.

Tivoli has style and serenity in spades, but it also delivers big on the scoff and quaff. There are eight restaurants and bars, but the star players are from superstar Portuguese chef Olivier da Costa. Fancy and flirty Guilty hits the indulgence sweet spot (hello truffle fries and Spicy Margs), while Yakuza is the sleek, candlelit Japanese fusion restaurant that’ll have you reaching for your wrap dress and gold hoops. Then there’s Seen Beach Club, the poolside-to-party scene where the sushi is dreamy, the DJ sets are fire, and the rosé flows like a particularly good decision. It’s grown-up Ibiza energy, with better service and no 3am regret.

Rooms are airy, modern and elegantly unfussy – all creamy neutrals, cloud-like beds, terraces made for morning coffee and bathrooms straight from a luxury Pinterest board. Even the sockets are international-friendly – a tiny but satisfying detail that saves any G&T-delaying adaptor hunts. Want more space? Suites come with generous living areas and sun terraces made for impromptu TikToks. Everything’s designed for ease - effortless luxury that doesn’t shout.

And the spa? Pure poetry in lemongrass and low lighting – a serene, open-air sanctuary where travel stress melts faster than your gelato. Book the signature massage to ease your airport shoulder slump, then drift through the open-air thermal circuit surrounded by tropical plants and gently burbling fountains. It’s quiet, restorative and oddly emotional – as if someone’s turned the volume down on the world. Finish with herbal tea and a float in the contrast pools, then decide if you’re ever going home again. Spoiler: you won’t want to.
