Cute babywear

Is there a new little prince or princess in your family too? Click this way for the cutest newborn clothes around. Awwww!

As you might just have noticed, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their son to the world this week. Wasn’t Harry so sweet when he announced it? It’s so refreshing to see a royal act like a normal human being with normal emotions. Anyway, we thought it the perfect juncture for a babywear edit. Not that we need much excuse to be honest – there’s so much brilliantly designed stuff out there these days plus, well, who doesn’t like gorgeous diddy clothes? (Don’t worry, Mr Muddy, it hasn’t given me any ideas. God, no.) So if you’re looking for a gift for the newest little prince or princess in your family or friendship group, here are some ridiculously cute ideas.

A gorgeously traditional cashmere matinee jacket from Brora, £115, which also does a good line in baby cashmere jumpers, hats and blankets. Sweeeet!

Probably not your first thought for babywear but Zara’s 0-12mth Mini range is definitely worth a look. Case in point: these Zara sandals(£19.99).

Not entirely sure how I feel about babies in leopard-print – thoughts? These Mini Rodini boots (£24) are certainly a talking point. The supercool Swedish brand also does a beanie and a bodysuit in the same print.

Cos’s kidswear is as sleek as its grown-up clothes. Check out the unusual colourway of this cardigan, (£29)

The John Lewis heirloom range is gorgeous – and you may recognise some of the vintage prints from your own childhood. My pick of the bunch is this dress and knickers set (£32)

Gap does reliably stylish babywear, like this rainbow-striped unisex sleepsuit,(£14.95)

These ‘days of the week’ Stella McCartney bodysuits (£104 for a pack of seven) are ideal for those early weeks when you’re too tired to remember what your name is, let alone what day it is.
