About Muddy Stilettos

Muddy Stilettos is an award-winning lifestyle site written by a community of in the know national journalists about their local area. Our mission is to help busy women who live outside London to find new, exciting things to do with their precious time.

With an urban outlook and an irreverent, fun loving attitude, we help our audience find the cool, quirky and unmissable bits of their county. We offer a unique alternative to local newspapers and advertorial-led magazines – readers have a close, trusting relationship with Muddy Stilettos.

We are growing fast and are currently in 19 counties with 200k+ subscribers to our regular emails and 100k+ social media followers. Our readers are 79% female, live in very affluent households and are aged between 35-54.


Our brand partners

At a local level we work with premium local businesses who are looking to reach an affluent female market.

At a national level we want to work with new and emerging premium and boutique brands who are looking to bring new and exciting products, services and experiences to market. This is what our audience wants to find out about and spend their money on and given our role we are in a great position to bring them.

We are now looking for someone who can help us grow our business amongst more of these types of clients.


 Who are we looking for?

The right candidate will have the following:

  • Considerable recent experience and measurable success in selling brand partnerships and working with these types of brands and their agencies.
  • Be able to confidently and creatively sell the benefits of working with a highly-connected network of top quality editors who have deep and trusted relationships with a highly affluent audience.
  • Be reader focused, not just sales focused. We are not an old-fashioned advertising-led business and the right candidate will not just sell eyeballs or clicks. He or she will be able to work closely with our editorial and social teams to create campaigns and activity involving editorial and content creation, across all our channels; website, newsletters and social media.
  • An excellent grasp of the value of brand partnerships – both in terms of market value but also the value to the client and their expectations – and with this the ability to maximize the return we get from our high investment in editorial and the higher value of audience.


This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a smart, entrepreneurial and ambitious person to combine both sales and creative skills, to help a young, innovative business step change its growth.


The work environment

The position is likely to involve a mixture of working in London, from home and at Muddy’s HQ straight off the M40 near Oxford. As most of us are working mothers we are big fans of flexi time and are happy to accommodate the school run and getting home early to spend time with the family.

You will work with a core team who have previously worked in London ad agencies and magazine publishing. We have a fun caring working environment and, like our role for our readers, we want to get the most out of our life and spend our precious time well.

Finding the right person is our priority so we are open to full or part time possibilities. The salary will be competitive.
