We like it hot! Kick-start the year (and cure your sore head) with this fiery take on the classic tomato and vodka-based Bloody Mary from Tipsy Wight.
So that was 2020. What a complete and utter omnishambles. But whatever fate befell us then isn’t going to follow us into 2021, is it? Is it?
Well, we are where we are (at home which, to be hyper-literal about it, is where we’ve been for most of last year) and there has to be some joy eked out of the day’s proceedings. So once you’ve had your long walk and you’ve fixed your turkey sandwich and watched a classic film, your mind may turn to refreshment of the alcoholic kind.
Cue this red-hot Chilli Bloody Mary recipe from Isle of Wight brand Tipsy Wight. Don’t have a bottle of Chilli Vodka leaning tipsily in the cupboard? Substitute with a shot of ordinary vodka and small amount of chopped chilli – then order some, pronto.
50ml Tipsy Wight® Chilli Vodka
150ml Tomato Juice
25ml lemon juice
Dash of dry white wine
Pinch of celery salt
Pinch of cracked black pepper
Pinch of chopped celery leaves
Celery stick & chilli slices to garnish
Roll all ingredients in a shaker half-filled with ice cubes to chill. Strain into a highball glass over ice cubes. Garnish with chilli slices, extra pepper and a celery stick.
