The fittest new fitness gear
There's loads of gorgeous new fitness wear in the shops and online at the moment. Hop, skip and jump this way for what's on our wish list.
When it comes to fitness, it doesn’t matter if you have no idea as long as you’ve got all the gear, right? Er, OK, that’s possibly not an inspirational mantra you’ll see on your gym’s Insta any time soon but we stand by it! And there’s loads of gorgeous new gear in the shops right now. Whether you’re pounding around the park, downward-dogging (um, not that kind) or swimming lengths, we’ve got something chic for you. And let’s face it, we need to get maximum fitness kicks RIGHT NOW in case we all got locked in our houses forever more. Let’s get physical!
Forget about leopard, our new favourite print has gotta be croc. We’re into these cropped length leggings new in at Sweaty Betty – not boring black, lightweight, super-soft and with a dig-free waistband for when you’re hitting the crunchies hard.
Take the plunge
H&M is always a dead cert if your buying your fitness clobber on the high street. This plum tones colour-block swimsuit, made with fast-drying fabric, is a steal. And it’s fully lined for support – so no falling out when you’re diving in.
M&S’s new Goodmove activewear range gets the seal of approval from Muddy HQ’s resident runners so we’re definitely on board. This striking cobalt blue, boxy T-shirt is quick dry with moisture-wicking fabric so ideal for lunchtime sprints.
Nike’s newest React Infinity Run trainers are specifically designed to reduce long distance running-related injuries, with maximum foam cushioning and a unique rocker soul. One perpetually injured Muddy HQ runner swears by them – they’ve been a total game-changer for her. We also think they look really chic – this dreamy pastel colourway hits all the right notes for spring. Go on, sign up for that half marathon.
Created by 22 year old Insta-star and vegan foodie Grace Beverley – all while running two other fitness businesses AND graduating from Oxford Uni (yep – this girl’s set for world domination) , We Are Tala offers a range of sustainable separates that are pleasingly size-inclusive. This sleek grey marl zip up comes in sizes 4 – 20, plus tags are made from plantable paper so you’ll get a free houseplant with your purchase too. Bravo.
Refuse to fork out £30 for a water bottle? Dopper is a great alternative. The bright bottles come in loads of different colours, are dishwasher safe and come with a handy detachable cup. There’s also the option to personalise with your own design.
From Aussie designer Pip Edwards’ fitness brand P.E. Nation, this sports bra with removable cups and stylish cross back strikes the perfect balance between practicality and off-duty athleisure wear. We love.
Mind the gap
Sportswear doesn’t have to be limited to all black Lycra. Case and point – US brand Free People’s activewear. This pretty lightweight layering top with cut out detail is our go-to for throwing on after a yoga class.
