Get your hands on a gem in this sparkling auction
Lusting after a sparkler like this one on future Mrs Beckham's finger? Then be sure to check out Fellows auction house's Gemstone Sale and quick - it ends Friday!
Weddings may be on hold for now, but love abounds. With Tiffany Trump and Brooklyn Beckham among the recently engaged, romance is blossoming, even in lockdown. Engagement ring sales are buoyant according to style bible Vogue, which this week reported the latest trends in ring design – it’s all about bold coloured jewels in statement shapes. And the savviest couples are designing rings themselves – talk about bespoke.
Already betrothed? Make it an eternity or cocktail ring – what better way to lift the spirits in lockdown than a unique sparkler that’s just for you, and one day could be handed down generations.
But how to get started on creating that bobby dazzler? Step forward Fellows, the long-established auctioneer that this week has an online sale of loose gems. Feast your eyes on 80 deliciously sparkly lots of diamonds in countless hues – pinks, greens and yellows; and hypnotic sapphires in every shade, from the blue of the Caribbean Sea to an inky black. Prices start from the surprisingly affordable £30-mark right up to hundreds. The bidding part is easy – once you’ve registered on the Fellows website you can see the current bid for each lot then submit your bid.
When you’ve got your gem, a good local jewellery designer can create that bespoke, statement ring, or even necklace, earrings or bracelet, depending on how carried away you got at the auction. The online auction ends on Friday at 9am. Going once, going twice… we’re sold!
