<p>News that A-list anglophile Johnny Depp was buying Paul Hollywood&#8217;s fiancée&#8217;s pub, The Chequers Inn, blew up the internet – and then sank like bad souffle within 24hrs when <em>GBBO</em> judge poo pooed the whole idea. Our dreams of Depp pulling pints and serving us a large G&amp;T shattered. Then news broke that The The Crown in Pishill, Oxfordshire, bought by comedian Russell Brand in 2020, is no longer a village pub, but in fact his social media recording studio. But all is not lost, we&#8217;re consoling ourselves by following the stars to every raise a glass in the many celebrity-owned pubs, bars, hotel and restaurant. </p>

<p>One of the iconic 90s waifs, former model <strong>Jodie Kidd</strong> has swapped the catwalk for pub life as the co-owner of The Half Moon in Kirdford. Kidd, who lives down the road, bought the pub in 2017 with a couple of mates, and transformed it into a stylish gastropub, with equine-inspired interiors that has proved culinary catnip for families for its laidback vibe and brilliant kids menu.</p>

<p>Singer <strong>James Blunt</strong> owns this, ahem, beautiful Chelsea-based boozer. The former spit-and-sawdust drinking hole, popular with footie fans, has been transformed by Blunt. The singer and social media sensation, who lives around the corner, has turned The Fox &amp; Pheasant into posh gastropub with an <em>a la carte</em> menu, bar snacks, all-day Sunday Roasts and a star-studded fanbase, from the Royal family (Princess Beatrice) to, err, Jeremy Clarkson.&nbsp;</p>

<p>We&#8217;re bowled over! Stuart Broad – aka Mr Mollie King – may have retired from cricket, but it means he has more time to spend with his family, organise his wedding and play pub landlord at The Tap &amp; Run in Upper Broughton. Broad bought the pub with fellow England cricket Harry Gurney, creating The Cat and Wickets Pub Company. It has recently undergone a £1.2m refurbishment, after it was destroyed by fire caused by a fault tumble dryer. The pair have gone on to buy a second pub, The Griffin Inn in Swithland, Leics.</p>

<p>Game, set and matching bed linens. Wimbledon winner <strong>Andy Murray’s</strong> Victorian pile in Perthshire is a grand slam of luxury. His glam wife Kim (her of swishy hair fame) is behind the style, which is old school plush, with a library, billiards and even a whisky tasting room. Set in 24 acres, there’s a vegetable garden, tennis courts (tennis, pickle ball and pro coaching available) and loch to explore. Definitely a place we fancy cosying up by a roaring fire with a wee dram. </p>

<p>While your more likely to find mega music star <strong>Ed Sheeran</strong> in his underground pub on his Framlingham estate in Suffolk, in London you can visit Bertie Blossoms on Portobello Road in Notting Hill. Sheeran opened the restaurant  in 2019 (yep, just before the pandemic). The <em>Shape of You</em> singer knows his plonk, so it&#8217;s no surprise the wine, Champagne and cocktail menu at this pretty neighbourhood joint is exceptional. And the food? Think tasty tapas, like grilled asparagus with truffle oil and parmesan. </p>

<p>Respect to F1 racer (and new Ferrari team member) <strong>Lewis Hamilton</strong> and movie star <strong>Leonardo DiCaprio</strong> for predicting the plant-based food revolution and backing Neat Burger. Its branches in London (Victoria and Camden), Milan and NYC are booming while serving only veg-filled fast food: think better burgers, super salads and artisan ciabattas. <p>Dark, sexy, ready for a good time, this gastronomic wine bar in King&#8217;s Cross is a carbon copy of its owner, actor <strong>Idris Elba</strong>. Go for glasses of Porte Noire Champagne and rosé, but stay for the buzzy atmosphere and delicious food. Apparently Elba and business partner David Farber&nbsp;wanted to create &#8216;a sumptuous and intimate space inspired by the wine bars of continental Europe&#8217;. Cheers, boys, we&#8217;re sold! </p>

<p>It&#8217;s seems only fitting that one of the oldest pubs in London (500 years!) should be owned by Sir Ian McKellen, aka Gandalf in the <em>Lord of the Rings </em>movie trilogy. Close to Canary Wharf, the pub&#8217;s a hit with city workers thanks to its quiet location, beautiful views of the River Thames and truly excellent crispy fish and chips. Gandalf&#8217;s staff from the movie is rumoured to be behind the bar &#8211; Muddy really hopes Sir Ian occasionally grabs it and shouts &#8216;Thou shalt not pass&#8217; at rowdy customers. Also, Sir Ian sometimes makes an appearance at the Monday night quiz. </p>
