Pucker up! 10 lip smacking lipsticks
A new spring wardrobe might be out of the question (let's face it, we're living in PJs!) but we can all treat ourselves to a new lippy, right? Mwah!
Gone are the days where we’d don our stilettos, plan an outfit and zhuzh our make up routine for a night out on the town. Now we find ourselves settling into the sofa, glass of wine (ok – bottle) in hand and logging onto Zoom or Housparty to have a virtual girls’ night in.
.
.And, whilst none of us are complaining about this new state of constant comfort (seriously – what are jeans?), we may find ourselves missing the ritual of getting dressed up and feeling a little glam for the night. The solution? Treating ourselves to a brand new lipstick, of course!
.
.Adding a splash of colour or a bold lip is a really simple way to pimp your PFH (party from home) style, all while staying in your sweatpants. Here are 10 on our wish-list.
Pillow talk, Charlotte Tilbury
This lippy suits just about everyone with one selling every two minutes – wowzer! It comes in three creamy colours, but we’re mainlining this warm berry (shade Medium). Not sure what your colour is? There’s a virtual try-on to find your perfect shade.
£25
All fired up, M.A.C
This matte, high pigment lipstick is a dead cert for making an impact on screen. Hot pink made an appearance on almost every runway at London Fashion week so it hits all the right style notes.
£17.50
Clear, Glossier
If your lipstick application skills are a little sub-par (hello, The Joker), then you’ll love the glossy lip trend. It’s really easy to nail and super low maintenance. We’re opting for cult brand Glossier’s classic long-wearing gloss in shade Clear.
£11
Sexy Mother Pucker, Soap & Glory
This pocket-size, 3D-plumping lippy from Soap and Glory scores a perfect 10 for price-point – it’s an absolute steal at under a fiver. Pair with lip liner (if you’ve got the skills) for definition.
£3.50
Uncensored, Fenty Beauty
The red lip is a classic and is always on trend at some point in every style cycle. Try something a little different with this liquid option from Rhianna’s make up line – it has a soft matte finish and lasts for 12 hours.
£20
Torrid, Nars
Not a fan of a bold lip? Get your chops around Nars’ Afterglow lip balm range featuring a luscious blend of antioxidants. This sheer coral will add an understated pop of colour without being OTT.
£23
Dreamboat, revolution beauty London
Get two-for-one with this cheek and lip tinting duo from Revolution, it comes in seven sheer shades and can be layered up to create a darker pigment. The high street brand also does amazing eyeshadow palette dupes, serums and hyaluronic acid droplets if you’re looking to beef up your beauty regime on a budget.
£6
Maroon, Becca Cosmetics
Muddy’s resident make up guru Rhiannon swears by under-the-radar brand Becca Cosmetics. The Ultimate Lipstick Love collection comes in 31 chic shades and features hyaluronic acid and nourishing avocado oil. We love this satin-finish Maroon for a statement lip.

Tokyo, NYX
You may find this budget brand lurking in a teen girl’s make up bag, but don’t be put off – it’s actually decent quality and at a brilliant price point. The liquid lipsticks are easy to apply and are all named after city destinations, perfect fodder for post-lockdown holiday inspo. Tokyo here we come!
£6
Night Mauve, Tom Ford
Treat yo’self, sister! This Tom Ford lipstick is a splurge, but so worth it. The formula is packing soja seed extract, brazilian murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil, meaning it has a totally luxe and creamy texture. The rich mauve colour has Zoom seduction written all over it.
